Cheerwine to Celebrate Centennial Anniversary in Salisbury

Cheerwine, the iconic soft drink company from Salisbury, N.C. has made its way into the homes, restaurants and hearts of North Carolinians now for 100 years.

The family-owned and local drink company is thanking its fans for “100 years of cheer” by throwing an exciting anniversary celebration in its birthplace this Saturday, May 20. The Centennial Celebration will celebrate “all things Carolina” with a North Carolina barbeque competition, local food, live music and more.

Guests will be able to enjoy free Cheerwine and celebratory koozies, limited edition Cheerwine merchandise, live music from local bands, People’s Choice BBQ Competition starting at noon, food from Cheerwine’s partners and friends and more.

Some of the vendors included will be Bojangles, Fatz Café, Biscuitville and King of Pops which will offer a Cheerwine-flavored snack. Local N.C. craft beer, including Olde Mecklenburg Brewery and New Sarum Brewing Company, will be offered to guests as well.

There will be a family friendly Kids Zone with magicians, jugglers, rock climbing wall, obstacle course, slides, bounce house, lawn games and more. This celebration will truly be fun for all ages!

The milestone celebration will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday in downtown Salisbury on North Main Street. The event is free and open to the public.
