August Events Calendar in Charlotte

Friday August 4, 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. – Hamiltunes an American Singalong

Local musicians and fans of Broadway musicals are invited to singalong to the cast recording of Hamilton, the hit Broadway musical, at Spirit Square. All are welcome, whether you have seen the show, listened to the album, or just want to experience the fun. This is part of a summer Friday singalong series hosted by Blumenthal Performing Arts.

Sunday August 6, 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. – Charlotte Popsicle Fest

Beat the summer heat at Charlotte’s Popsicle Festival at Rooftop 210. Sponsors include the local favorite, King of Pops and other vendors like Sams Club, Red Bull and The American Cancer Society. Local mixologists will be serving up your favorite alcoholic drinks with traditional summertime popsicles. This event is 21 and up only.

Sunday August 6, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. – Carolina Bridal & Wedding Fair

Are you or someone you know planning a wedding? The Caroline Bridal Fair at Cabarrus Area & Events Center can help this process be easy and a lot of fun! You have the opportunity to chat with the area’s most talented wedding planners and professionals while tasting delicious cakes and catering options. Guests can view beautiful flowers, bridal party fashion, and the latest wedding trends. VIP and general admission tickets are available online.

Monday, August 7 through Sunday, August 13 – 2017 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club

The long-awaited PGA tournament returns to North Carolina for only the third time, at Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club. Practice rounds begin on Monday, August 7 and the tournament will begin Thursday, August 10. After years of Quail Hollow Club hosting the Wells Fargo Championship, Charlotte’s first-ever golf major will bring golfers, fans and tourism to the Queen City.

Tuesday, August 15 – John Mayer at PNC Music Pavilion

John Mayer is coming to Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion as a part of his The Search for Everything Tour with The Night Game. For a full list of summer concerts coming to the Queen City, check out our previous blog post.

Friday August 25 through Sunday August 27 – Southern Women’s Show
The Southern Women’s Show is returning to the Charlotte Convention Center at the end of the month, with prizes, special guests and fun for everyone. Exhibitor categories include appliances, travel and leisure, kitchen products, arts and crafts and much more. The event’s special guests include Olympic gymnast, Laurie Hernandez; musician, Sloane Latourneau; “Southern Belle Medium”, Tamara Caulder Richardson; and Wonder Woman.
