October Events Around Charlotte
Saturdays Sept 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28 Hours: 10 am -4 pm
Sundays October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 Hours: 1 pm- 6 pm – Lewis Farm Weekend Fall Festival
Families and people of all ages are welcomed to come out and enjoy a day on the farm in Lewis Farm in Gastonia. Ticket prices cover horse drawn hayride, feed and pet the animals, playgrounds, mazes, and a pony ride for younger children. All active and retired military receive free admission every weekend with their military ID.
Saturdays & Sundays, September 30-November 19 – Carolina Renaissance Festival
History comes alive with the annual Carolina Renaissance Festival in Huntersville. Enjoy the fall weather at the festival with all-day entertainment, arts and crafts, games and rides, jousting knights on horseback, feasting and more! Time travel to the greatest party since Camelot!
Sunday, October 8 – Bank of America 500
The annual Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series’ Bank of America 500 is considered a NASCAR fall classic! This racing competition could make or break drivers’ championship dreams. The night before, guests can come to the race track and see award-winning, country music singer, Brad Paisley perform for NASCAR fans.
Sunday, October 15 noon until 4:30 – Charlotte Bloody Mary Festival
Come enjoy some of Charlotte’s best Bloody Marys as local bars and restaurants from all over the queen city compete to be named the makers of Charlotte’s best Bloody Mary! Guests can expect unlimited samples of Bloody Marys and Marias with crazy garnishes and toppings. Tickets are available online at general admission and VIP options.
Friday, October 20 through Saturday, October 21 – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert
Don’t miss the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra perform every note from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone at Ovens Auditorium. Audiences will be able to relive the movies that captivated the world in high-definition on a giant screen while hearing the orchestra perform the film’s unforgettable music.
Saturday, October 21 – Belmont Boo Fest
This year’s Boo Fest will include carnival rides, games for children and adults, food vendors, great music, a cupcake walk, costume contest and Butch Patrick from the original cast of The Munster’s! You will not want to miss this year’s Boo Fest!
Saturday, October 28 – Pumpkin Carving Mania
The Schiele Museum of Natural History is hosting a pumpkin carving event in Gastonia the weekend of Halloween. Guests can try to carve a pumpkin with anything from scary monsters and wild animals to movie characters and famous people. This isn’t your average pumpkin carving! Learn how to cut, scrape, clean, design, trace, engrave, and chisel a pumpkin. There will be a pumpkin carving contest at the end of the event.
