Halloween Weekend Events Around Charlotte
Scarowinds – Friday and Sunday 7 p.m. – midnight, Saturday 7 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Carowinds turns into Scarowinds for the frightening Halloween season. With 16 haunted houses and attractions, over 500 monsters, six elaborate scare zones and six haunted mazes, face your fears at this Charlotte holiday staple! Tickets can be bought online or at the gate.
Howl-O-Ween at Helles – Friday 6-9 p.m.
Start the Halloween weekend with your furry friends in South End. Dress your dog up for the holiday and head over to the Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest at Helles & Dunkel for a night of costume contests and holiday fun. Judging starts at 6 and winners are announced at 8:30 with costume categories including Most Creative Costume, Best Matching with Your Dog Costume, and Funniest Costume.
Not-So-Spooky Halloween – Saturday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The Town of Matthews Parks and Recreation is hosting a family friendly Halloween event all day Saturday. Kids can enjoy Curley the Clown, old-fashioned hayrides, and Halloween games and activities. Get a head start on trick or treating, so bring your bags to fill with Halloween treats. All kids are welcome to join our costume parade, so come dressed in your costumes ready to have a great time!
Kiss 95.1 Grave Diggers Ball featuring Macklemore –Saturday 6 – 11 p.m.
Kiss 95.1’s annual Grave Diggers Ball returns to the Queen City for the area’s largest costume contest, DJs and live music performances by chart-topping acts including this year’s headliner, Macklemore. Tickets can be found online.
Spirits of Rosedale – Friday and Saturday from 7 – 9 p.m.
The Spirits of Rosedale will guide you on a tour through the plantation home’s first floor, kitchen basement and gardens. Rosedale’s theatrical production team presents this family-friendly Halloween production for audiences ages 6 and up. Tickets are $10-$25.
Day of the Dead/Dia de Muertos Festival – Sunday noon- 4 p.m.
The Latin American Coalition, along with the Levine Museum of the New South, has planned a day filled with skulls and flowers in uptown Charlotte to celebrate the Day of the Dead/Dia de Muertos. This traditional Mexican holiday event will feature music and dance performances, sugar skull workshops, arts and crafts and so much more!
The biggest Halloween crawl in the Southeast is returning to Charlotte on Saturday for the holiday weekend. The event is expecting over 20 bars involved throughout Uptown Charlotte, drink specials, event koozies, giveaways and costume contests. Tickets are available online.
