This Month’s Holiday Events Around Charlotte
With the passing of Halloween, it’s officially time to start planning for the end of year holidays. Thanksgiving recipes, Christmas decorations and holiday music are at an all-time high this time of the year. Here are some of this month’s holiday events in Charlotte that start as early as this week. Also take a look at our previous holiday blog about ways to entertain guests throughout the next two months.

Time: Sunday – Tuesday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
The Queen City’s largest holiday shopping experience will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, kicking off this week. Enjoy festive dance performances, get your picture taken with Santa, stroll through Christmas Tree Lane, and treat yourself to holiday chocolates, candies, cakes and strudels. Date: Daily November 17 – December 31 (closed Christmas Day)
Time: 5-9 p.m.
Come enjoy the magic of the holiday season at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. The grounds turn into a winter wonderland with live music performances, holiday shopping, horse-drawn carriage rides and more. The nights will glow with holiday spirit with more than 600,000 lights and illuminated displays throughout the Garden. Tickets are available online.

Inspired by the holiday hit movie, the N.C. Transportation Museum comes to life as you take a ride on The Polar Express. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served on board the train and passengers will enjoy singing, dancing and a reading of The Polar Express. Guests are encouraged to visit Candy Cane Lane after the train ride to get a photo with Santa Claus.

Time: 6-7:30 p.m.
The Carolina Panthers Fourth Annual Tree Lighting will be held the night before Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 22. This event is free to the public and will take place outside of Bank of America Stadium, on the Corner of Mint Street and Graham Street. Fans will enjoy appearances by Sir Purr, the TopCats, PurCussion Drumline and the Black & Blue Crew. The event will be held rain or shine and parking will be available from various independent parking companies in the Uptown area.

Time: 9:30 a.m.
Come enjoy a classic holiday tradition with a modern twist! Guests will experience larger-than-life floats and balloons, nationally known recording artists, marching bands, dance performances and so much more at Novant Health’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This event is free and open to the public.
