Things To Do This Month Around Charlotte
Charlotte Christmas Village is a quaint European-inspired Christmas Market in Uptown’s Romare Bearden Park. November 17 – December 31, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden glows with holiday spirit during Holidays at the Garden. Guests can enjoy live music, holiday shopping, crackling fires and the Children’s Holiday Discovery Trail of activities. Model train displays, trees of orchids, and more than 600,000 lights and illuminated displays make the holidays come alive at this Christmas event.
November 19 – December 31, Charlotte Motor Speedway
This year’s Speedway Christmas will have over 3,000,000 show lights with a new and greatly improved lights-to-music drive-thru section along the 3.5 mile course. The Christmas Village at the Speedway includes a petting zoo, Bethlehem village, photos with Santa, and more. Fans can sit in their cars and watch FOX 46 Movie Nights on the giant Speedway TV every Thursday-Sunday. Movies will begin at 6:30 p.m. each night, with a second showing immediately after.
Carowinds comes alive for the holiday season with WinterFest. The park is packed with sights, sounds and food from the holiday season and the state line will shine bright with over 5 million lights and a 70 foot tree with lavish displays. December 5, 8:00 p.m., Ovens Auditorium
Ex-Stray Cats front man Brian Setzer launched the Brian Setzer Orchestra, an 18-piece swing and jump blues band, in the 1990s and is coming to Charlotte for his annual holiday extravaganza. The band plays their top hits as well as classic Christmas songs and inspired guitar work by Setzer himself. This show is perfect for fans of big bands, jazz and rockabilly, and classic holiday tunes!
December 13 – 17, Ovens Auditourium
Les Miserables has been called the world’s most popular musical, telling a story of broken dreams, unanswered love, passion, sacrifice and redemption. The musical comes to Ovens Auditorium with new staging and scenery for a show like never before.
December 29, Bank of America Stadium
The annual postseason Belk Bowl is a Charlotte classic! The game features a matchup of the No. 2 team from the SEC against the No. 2 team from the ACC. This game day kicks off early with a free Fan Fest in the Mint Street area next to the stadium.
