Where To Go in Charlotte To Cheat on Your New Year’s Diet
When you think of New Year’s resolutions, the same theme comes to mind; spend less money, be a better person and the inevitable – eat healthier. While we aren’t here to tell you to ditch that goal, we are here to encourage those long-awaited cheat days. We put together a list of the best local cheat day spots around Charlotte and the best guilty pleasures you can find there. There are options on these menus for those who aren’t cheating, but to those of you who are – go ahead, treat yourself! We won’t tell…
JJ’s is the go-to place for hot dogs in the Queen City. Whether you’re at Sycamore Brewery eating from the food truck or planning a party to be catered, JJ’s is the place to go. Toppings vary from classics like chili and cheese to pickle relish, salsa, and cilantro and of course their secret sauce.
While Midwood Smokehouse specializes in classic Carolina barbeque, there’s an appetizer on the menu that seems to be Charlotte’s favorite of its kind. The pimento cheese fries, topped with homemade pimento cheese with the option of pork or beef brisket are constantly bragged about!
Helen Adams Realty’s Referral Services Manager Jordan Nelson’s personal favorite spot in Charlotte for chicken and waffles is Eddie’s Place, an award winning neighborhood restaurant and bar in the South Park/Cotswold area. The restaurant is inspired by the owner’s experiences in New Orleans.
The self-proclaimed “place to be on game days” according to the restaurant’s website, All American Pub has all of your game day favorite foods. The All American Nachos are stacked high with award winning chili, white queso, diced tomatoes, green onions, lettuce, pickled jalapeno slices and sour cream.
This family drive-in restaurant has been serving Charlotte since 1955 and is a crowd favorite amongst Charlotte residents and neighbors. Pro tip: get the chocolate milkshake. You’ll thank us later.
Moo & Brew is NoDa’s burger and beer joint. Their brunch menu’s Bloody Mary might be the most garnished Bloody in all of Charlotte! The drink is stacked with olives, celery, bacon, pickle, orange and a burger slider!
