January Events Around Charlotte

Strip it 2 Give it 8K, 5K, Fun Run

January 5 at 11 a.m.

Strip it to Give it is a charity race designed to bring awareness to and help prevent Charlotte’s homelessness. Come out and support local organizations that are helping end homelessness in the Queen City. Runners at every mile marker will take off an item of clothing. The clothing will then be washed, dried, and handed out to our neighbors in need. In addition, proceeds will directly benefit the Jimmy CORE Foundation and RunningWorks, Inc. The event will start at Triple C Brewing Company.


Monster Jam at Spectrum Center

January 11 – January 12 at 7 p.m.

Get ready for an action-packed weekend at Monster Jam with trucks, four wheelers, and world class drivers competing at Spectrum Center. Join the Monster Jam pre-show Pit Party, giving fans the opportunity to meet the drivers, get autographs and have your pictures taken. Find out more event details and ticket information online.


The Whole Enchilada at U.S. National Whitewater Center

January 12 at 8 a.m.

With new trails being added regularly to the USNWC, there are over 40 miles of mountain bike trails calling your name. The Whole Enchilada allows mountain bikers to tackle the trails in their entirety and The Half Enchilada offers a shorter distance through roughly half of the center’s trail system. Annual MLK Holiday Breakfast at Charlotte Convention Center

January 21 at 8 a.m.

Guests are welcomed to join the YMCA’s Annual MLK Holiday Breakfast and honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The proceeds from this event will be used to provide youth and families in the area with educational and uplifting programs. This year’s keynote speaker will be Soledad O’Brien, an award-winning journalist, documentarian, news anchor, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Tickets can be purchased online.


2019 Bulldog Beauty Pageant at Lucky Dog Bark & Brew Charlotte

January 26 at 2 p.m.

Lucky Dog Bark & Brew will be hosting their annual Bulldog Beauty Pageant to benefit Bullies 2 the Rescue. The event is 21 and up and welcomes all furry, four-legged friends as long as they are fixed, friendly, and up to date on all shots. Bulldogs from around the Charlotte area will come dressed to impress and compete to win titles such as Best Butt Wiggle, Mr. and Mrs. Congeniality, Prettiest, Most Handsome, and Best Smile.
