CIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament

February 25-March 2, Spectrum Center

The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the nation’s first African-American athletic conference, will host the 2019 CIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament during the last week of February. This is the tournament’s last year in Charlotte, so be sure to check out the all-session ticket packages as well as single-session tickets that can be purchased online.

 

American Girl Live

March 7-9, McGlohon Theatre at Spirit Square

Watch as the beloved American Girl dolls come to life on stage for the first time at the McGlohon Theatre. This family-friendly musical celebrates the importance of friendship and achieving your dreams. Bring the kids out to see this new and inspiring musical and learn some life lessons along the way.

 

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert

March 8, Ovens Auditorium

Audiences will be able to relive the magic and adventure of Harry Potter’s second year at Hogwarts in a unique way. This concert features Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in high-definition while the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra performs the memorable score. Experience the talking spiders, scolding letters, and giant snakes like never before!

 

Color Me Green 5K Trail Run

Saturday March 16, U.S. National Whitewater Center

The spirit of St. Patrick’s Day returns to the Whitewater Center with a crowd favorite race, the Color Me Green Trail Run. This untimed race challenges runners to avoid (or invite) being hit with green colored dye as they run through the center’s trail system. After the race, stick around to enjoy yoga, live music, and the whitewater channels turning shamrock green!

 

7th Annual Celtic Festival

March 16-17, Historic Latta Plantation

This two-day celebration of Celtic history will feature authentic music, traditional Irish and Scottish dancers, historic reenactments, food trucks, whiskey tastings, and so much more. The popular event comes around once a year to the Huntersville location and always draws a crowd. Tickets and information can be found online.

 

The New South Trail Marathon

Saturday March 23, U.S. National Whitewater Center

The New South Trail Marathon and Half Marathon return to the U.S. National Whitewater Center at the end of March. Runners will follow paths through the woodland trail system along the Catawba River in either full or half marathons. The day starts at 8 a.m. and registration information can be found online.
