New Year’s Day 5k

Wednesday, January 1st

This inaugural family-friendly 5k and fun run will have you running into 2020 feeling refreshed and active. Participants are able to run or walk along the Blue Line on N. Tryon Street starting at the Old Concord Road station and finishing just past the McCullough Station near W. WT Harris Blvd. Participants will receive an all-day Lynx pass so hop on to the route at any stop and join us for a morning of New Year’s fun.


5th Annual Oyster Roast

Saturday January 4th at Windy Hill Orchard & Cider Mill

The best way to rewind and recover from the busy holidays is with oysters and hard cider! The event will have live music, award winning Hard Ciders on tap, and a few roaring fires to keep everyone warm. Ticket includes all you can eat oysters, a souvenir pint glass, and your first pint of hard cider!


The Whole Enchilada Race

Saturday, January 11th at U.S National Whitewater Center

The Whole Enchilada Race is made up of every mile of the trail. The MTB race’s mileage is expected to be around 45-50 miles. The Half Enchilada will be half the mileage but still requires all the effort. Event details, times, and registration information is online.


Cirque de Soleil: OVO

Sunday, January 12th at Bojangles Coliseum

Ovo is a touring circus production by Cirque du Soleil that will make its way to Charlotte in early 2020. Ovo’s creator and director, Deborah Colker, took inspiration from the world of insects for this production. The idea for Ovo was not to be about the acts, nor dancing, nor insects, but about movement. Doors open at 4pm and the show starts at 5pm. Tickets are available online.


Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus

Saturday January 18th at Spectrum Center

Presented by WW – Weight Watchers Reimagined – Oprah Winfrey plans to bring a full day wellness event to Charlotte this month. Joined by high profile guests, Oprah will help motivate audiences across the country to make 2020 the year of renewal and celebrate all we are meant to be.
