Jane has happily called Charlotte home for over 32 years. As a native of Alabama and graduate of Salem College in Winston-Salem, she knew her future was in the Tar Heel state. She has never considered living anywhere but North Carolina.
The seeds for her excitement about real estate were planted in Alabama by her grandfather who believed in the strong importance of owning land and that there was no better investment than real estate. She nurtured this advice through the years while investing with her husband in properties in both Charlotte and Bald Head Island.
After many years of living in Charlotte, Jane has acquired extensive knowledge of the local community and neighborhoods through her professional career and voluntarism. She has been directly involved in the issues that affect our community, schools and our livelihoods.
Prior to joining Helen Adams Realty, she has the profound honor to serve as VP of Institutional Advancement at Elon Homes and Schools for Children for over 20 years. The mission of Elon Homes, since 1907, is focused on God’s children in need. Her strong faith and desire to help children and youth who have been maltreated led her into that position. She feels blessed to have been able to help donors match their philanthropic interest in helping children with the budgetary needs of the mission, securing over $28 million in gifts.
Over the years, Jane has also served as a member of the Board of Directors and officer for several non-profit organizations including the Junior League of Charlotte, the Charlotte Chapter of Women of Vision, the Charlotte Museum of History and the Charlotte Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Jane currently serves on the Board of Taylor’s Tale which advocates for rare disease and treatment, especially Batten Disease, and on the Junior League of Charlotte’s Foundation Board. She received the impressive Lifetime Achievement Award from the Junior League of Charlotte and is a member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
Jane has consulted professionally and as a volunteer with numerous organizations regarding fund development and Policy Governance. In addition, she co-authored two fundraising manuals and authored several articles about Policy Governance and Classical Education.
When not busy serving others, showing beautiful homes in Charlotte or enhancing her mastery of real estate, Jane enjoys playing tennis, swimming, reading, needlepoint or playing mahjong. Of course, she also enjoys visiting Bald Head Island with family and friends!
Jane’s clients value her advice as a trusted professional. As their real estate advisor, her goal is to bring knowledge and clarity to the buying and selling process so that her clients are able to make decisions with confidence. She prides herself on her “deep market smarts,” stellar marketing skills, and a satisfaction guarantee to ensure her clients receive the value they deserve.
