2023 Design Trends + Predictions

2023 home design trends and predictions are here as we begin to turn the page of 2022. If you’re ready to get a jump on the trends, utilize the information below to set the scene within your spaces as it pertains to your lifestyle.

Home Retreat

After two years of travel delayed by the pandemic, people are bringing vacations to their homes. Natural, bright light, and warm wood tones are becoming more prevalent, though designers, according to Decorilla, say it’s most important to bring emotion to the interior. This can be obtained by going beyond paint colors and textures and by adding in elements such as objects from abroad and swapping out drapes for cool and breezy ones.

Colorful Raw Materials

Marble, granite, and stone have been staples in homes for years, especially in kitchens and baths. Now designers are taking that trend a step further by opting for slabs that have colorful hues intertwined within their layers, according to Who What Wear. Corals, reds, and deep blues will become more prominent in the home. Not only will you find these colors in large slabs that cover the cabinets, but you’ll also see them in centerpieces, serving platters, and backsplashes.

70s Nostalgia

The 70s are back! Out with the 80s and mid-century modern and in with warm tones and leathers. These materials are back and again commanding their presence within the home. Bold statement pieces will be the center of a room so make sure you head to the thrift store now before everyone gets on board.

Prioritize Lighting

A few easy changes in lighting can make a big impact on ambiance. Lighting is typically an afterthought but now designers are pushing it to the forefront. Fun elements such as a sculpture or wall sconce can reset the tone for an entire room. Prioritize your lighting as a focal point, rather than an afterthought, as you begin designing your next space.

Whether you love timeless design or reevaluating your style every year, these home trends reflect a new opportunity to bring renewed energy to your existing space.  As you consider incorporating these designs into your interior, feel free to reach out if you’re in need of extra help or a vendor in the area.
