Less than 20 miles south of the Queen City and across our neighboring state line, sits Fort Mill, South Carolina.

As is every other surrounding city of the Charlotte-Metro area, Fort Mill has been growing rapidly in population and size. The city of Fort Mill’s population is expected to pass 30,000 by 2030 according to See Fort Mill.

Interested in getting out of the hustle and bustle of Charlotte’s big city vibe and spending the day exploring a new city? Check out Fort Mill.

The Pump House in Fort Mill is one of the area’s most popular restaurants. The waterfront restaurant boasts their local chefs and fresh ingredients as some of the best Southern-inspired American cuisine.

Helen Adams Realty agent, Connie Miller, recommends the restaurant to visitors.

“Sit on the fifth floor,” said Miller, “open air seating overlooking the Catawba River. So fun and great food!”

Anne Springs Close Greenway is a nature reserve sitting on more than 2,000 acres in Fort Mill. Enjoy the natural beauty with bike tours, hiking or camping tours. The Greenway is number two on TripAdvisor’s things to do in Fort Mill.

Another popular restaurant in the area is HoBo’s on Main Street. The restaurant offers a great menu of hand spun milkshakes, fresh burgers, and a fine selection of beers from around the Carolinas.

Kari Kessell, an agent at Helen Adams Realty, complimented the restaurants cool atmosphere.

“Great burgers and shakes and a wonderful patio if it would ever warm up,” said Kessell.

Fort Mill History Museum, Glencairn Gardens and Pucker Butt Pepper Company are other fun ways to spend time in Fort Mill and get to know the area.

Know of any other hot spots in the Fort Mill area? Let us know! We are always interested in growing our own knowledge about Charlotte’s surrounding areas. Until then - you can find us on the rooftop at The Pump House!
