Whether you are a resident of Steele Creek, or live nearby, there are plenty of great attractions to check out in the area!

Here are a few we recommend:

1. Steele Creek Park & Campground - Their on-site activities include a fabulous water slide, fishing, hiking, swimming with two diving boards, picnics, & miniature golf. The campground's size and acreage creates a perfect place for rallies, events, RV club events, company picnics, reunions, birthday parties and more.


2. Carowinds - The place where the Carolinas come together. Ideally located on the North and South Carolina state line, we're just minutes away from Uptown Charlotte and other premier entertainment options. From live entertainment to the amazing thrill rides, there's plenty of attractions to check out for everyone. Don't forget! Now through the end of October, Scarowinds will be open for Halloween scares! See tickets and dates here.


3. McDowell Nature Center and Preserve - The preserve is the oldest in Mecklenburg County which  protects mostly forested, rolling terrain along the banks of Lake Wylie. A variety of programs are offered, including paddling tours of Lake Wylie and environmental education courses for all ages. Other facilities located in the preserve include:​
   
   
   
   • McDowell Campground,  offering a total of 56 reservable campsites. Options range from primitive sites to RV pads with full hookups.
   
   
   • Copperhead Island - A 20 acre island with hiking trails, group campings, fishing access and more. Open for public use daily unless reserved for special event. Reserve the entire island or just the main shelter.
   
   
   
   


4. Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden - The Carolinas’ Garden for all seasons, providing guests a chance to reconnect with nature. Located within 380 acres on the banks of Lake Wylie, spectacular gardens, sparkling fountains, a conservatory dedicated to the display of tropical plants and orchids, a visitor pavilion, a garden store and nature trails await the visitor.


5. Charlotte Premium Outlets - Charlotte Premium Outlets is North Carolina's newest upscale outlet center and features an impressive collection of fashion designers, luxury brands and name brand manufacturers. The 398,421 square-foot center offers 100 notable upscale outlet stores including Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Cole Haan, Gap Outlet, Kate Spade New York, Lucky Brand, Michael Kors, Nike Factory Store and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th at savings of 25 to 65 percent every day.
