Remembering Avery Love
Avery was a rare Charlotte native and had been active in the local marketplace since 1969. He owned four local real estate companies and enjoyed an extensive database with local Realtors. He began his career converting seventeen apartment communities locally and in the Southeast to the condominium form of ownership. He then enjoyed eight years taking over foreclosed bank owned communities and restoring them to proper market conditions. Avery developed eight single-family neighborhoods locally and in Atlanta, Georgia.
He had extensive experience in the new home industry, having served as VP in charge of sales and marketing activities for two national and regional homebuilders. Avery was known for his work ethic and overall desire to “do the right thing” for his clients. He prided himself in making each client feel like they were his only client.
There will be a memorial service held for Avery this coming Monday, May 16th at 11 am @ the First Baptist Church

“I met Avery back in the early 90’s when I first started selling real estate. A remarkable era when Helen Adams, Wanda Smith and Mary Ryder were the powerhouse queens in real estate. A time when MLS looked like a giant phone book and was dial-up. As a young inexperienced agent, Avery became my mentor. He was never to busy to stop what he was doing to help me out or answer my questions. He was like that with everyone. People were drawn to him because he had the most unique calming effect. No matter how stressful the situation, he was able to bring peace with his soft and confident voice. After starting back in real estate last year, 15 years had passed since I had last seen him. On my first day at Helen Adams I saw him sitting there at the call desk, where he was most days. It was like no time had passed, he was still this wonderful guy with his soft spoken style that made you feel like you were home. I will miss you dearly.”

“People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
We were very fortunate to have had Avery as part of our family at our Ballantyne location at Helen Adams Realty for a reason and a season.
Avery was a kind man with a gentle soul. Avery's work station was without walls and exposed to everyone that came in to the common workspace. Each day we would pass by and see him sitting at his desk diligently working. But, none of us remember a time when he didn’t stop whatever he was doing when we peaked our head in to say hello. He always had time for each and every one of us. Whether the conversation was about Tar heels Basketball, golf, or work, Avery had an insight that gave us all pause. It was remarkable.
Avery was in the Real Estate Industry for over 40 years. His wealth of knowledge and contacts were staggering and he was more than willing to share with those who were fortunate enough to have taken the time to get to know him.
Avery was very proud of his son Zan who is also in the Real Estate business. As a loving grandpa, he spoke often of his two precious grandchildren Elizabeth and David. We know as he looks down from heaven he will smile at the success of his entrepreneurial granddaughter, Elizabeth, who has her own dog sitting business and now is in the care of Avery’s sweet dog, “Kallie”.
Many of you have known the poem; People come into your life for a reason a season or a lifetime. Avery touched us in many ways. “The Reason”: he came to provide us with guidance and support with his wisdom. As the poem states ..."for whatever reason the relationship comes to an end. His passing was the end. What he left behind was realized and the need was met or fulfilled; his work was done. The prayer you sent up has been answered. When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season."
